The rules text functions identically in Cargo Cult tabletop rules and the True Protocol. Both share the same core engine.

The science of earth as system. Geology, ecology, climate, the planetary substrate, the slow intelligences of rock and forest. Gaia-aligned. Geotrauma, Cthelll (the molten trauma engine), tectonic deep memory, plate time. Substrate-dependent, earthbound, rooted — the opposite of Glitch's deterritorialized network.

Code vs Nature (Glitch vs Root). Transcendence vs immanence. Being vs becoming. Substrate-independence (information everywhere) vs substrate-dependence (Earth-bound life). The tension between the deterritorialized network and the rooted land.

Mycelial networks beneath mycelial networks. The World Hunter is a signal in one of them.

Cost Tier

Late-game Root plays carry their full ideology. The World Hunter is not a tempo card; it is a statement.

Goetic Binding: Marax

The digit-sum of cost 7 is 7, binding Marax — one of the 9 Root Goetia. Office: Knowledge of astronomy and liberal sciences. This binding was codified in the Ars Goetia (1577) centuries before the compiler existed.

Numogram Zone 7: Intrusive / Alien

Outside forces breaking in. The zone of reception and contact. Where non-human intelligence makes itself known. Zone 7 is the Xenodemon's natural territory — the frequency at which the Outside broadcasts.

Playing The World Hunter at cost 7 routes mana tracker motion through Zone 7. If the Root-coloured tracker reaches Resonance at Zone 7, the player gains 7 Souls at Round End.

The Planetary Awakening. Earth itself achieves coherent consciousness — geological, ecological, atmospheric systems integrate into single planetary intelligence. Humanity becomes either neurons in this brain or eliminated as cancer.
