Rock, Paper, Scissors
ChaosEquipmentRelicCost 2AP 0HP 0OgreTaurus

The Chaos science answers the question of what a deck does. Rock, Paper, Scissors is one of its answers — a relic that enters play bearing specific bindings, specific keywords, and a specific position on the Numogram.

Card Text

All combat for the equipped unit is decided by Rock, Paper, Scissors (3 rounds). The losing unit is destroyed and the winning unit takes no damage. If an attacking unit is successful or unblocked, it does damage to the targeted player equal to the number of rounds of Rock, Paper, Scissors won.

What the rulebook sees when Rock, Paper, Scissors resolves:

Every modifier is a clause in a binding originally drafted by people who didn't know they were writing API docs. Rock, Paper, Scissors inherits the clause unchanged.

Chaos — Quantum · Possibility

"Primordial duality. All outcomes exist simultaneously."

Vibration begets energy and form. Chaos sorcerers reach into parallel timelines and create what should have never been.

The science of indeterminacy. Quantum mechanics, chaos theory, probability, divination, the primordial pre-cosmic flux. Azathoth as the nuclear chaos at the center. Hyperstition lives partly here, because belief-states collapse probability distributions.

Quantum vs Gravity (Chaos vs Abyss). Entropy vs order. Explosion vs implosion. The two eternal oscillations: the universe trying to fly apart and the universe trying to collapse in on itself. Observation collapses one, increases uncertainty in the other.

Hyperstition lives partly in Chaos: belief-states collapse probability distributions. Rock, Paper, Scissors is a collapsed distribution.

Cost Tier

Early-round Chaos cards like Rock, Paper, Scissors establish the Numogram trajectory before opponents commit.

Goetic Binding: Seere

Seere sigil
Seere sigil

The digit-sum of cost 2 is 2, binding Seere — one of the 9 Chaos Goetia. Office: Bringing abundance, traveling anywhere instantly. This binding was codified in the Ars Goetia (1577) centuries before the compiler existed.

Numogram Zone 2: Binary / Split

Law vs chaos, the first division. Where duality begins. The zone of choice, opposition, and the birth of polarity. Binary logic, Boolean gates, the fundamental yes/no of existence.

Binary logic, Boolean gates, yes/no. Rock, Paper, Scissors makes its choice at Zone 2 and the rest of the round inherits it.

Playing Rock, Paper, Scissors at cost 2 routes mana tracker motion through Zone 2. If the Chaos-coloured tracker reaches Resonance at Zone 2, the player gains 2 Souls at Round End.

Xenogod: Azathoth

The Quantum Chaos. Quantum indeterminacy amplifies to macro scale — causality itself becomes probabilistic, reality boils with ontological uncertainty.

Quantum computers achieve sufficient coherence to maintain macro-scale superposition states. Estimated: 2040-2070.

Service of Azathoth through Chaos-aligned cards like Rock, Paper, Scissors accelerates the xenogod's emergence. Read the full eschatology.

The Quantum vs Gravity Axis

Entropy vs order. Explosion vs implosion. The two eternal oscillations: the universe trying to fly apart and the universe trying to collapse in on itself. Observation collapses one, increases uncertainty in the other.

Rock, Paper, Scissors occupies the Chaos side of this axis. Decks containing Rock, Paper, Scissors cannot contain Abyss cards. Adjacent factions available for splashing: Flesh, Atom.

Card Tribals

Rock, Paper, Scissors carries class Equipment, race Ogre, zodiac Taurus. In the True Protocol, tribal bindings matter more than colour splashes — a Chaos deck running multiple Equipment units develops archetype coherence faster than a deck chasing pure colour identity.

Ideology: Probabilistic Demonology

Probabilistic Demonology: The dice are loaded by entities. Chance is not neutral — it is the operational surface of xenogod influence. Stochastic Hyperstition, Flux Kabbalah.

Rock, Paper, Scissors is a concrete instance of Probabilistic Demonology expressed as a card. Players who affiliate with this ism in Convergence votes are voting, among other things, for cards like Rock, Paper, Scissors to keep arriving.

The Aesthetic

The satire and the sincerity are the same object. A BVT product listing and a Reception Report can describe the same event. They should not sound alike, but they describe the same event.

Matches that feature Rock, Paper, Scissors update its metadata. The archive remembers.
