The rules text functions identically in Cargo Cult tabletop rules and the True Protocol. Both share the same core engine.

In-lore, this is how Andrealphus (the Goetia bound to digit-sum 3) expresses itself through Monk of Dreams during a match. The 1577 codification still compiles.

Dream — Psychology · Neurology

"Mind is primary. Thought shapes reality. Will creates world."

Imagination is belief. Faith defeats all. Dream scryers bend reality through pure intention — telepathy, telekinesis and forgotten shadows.

The science of interiority, consciousness, archetype, and egregore. Includes depth psychology, symbolic magic, ritual technology, and any system that treats thoughtforms as citizens. In CCRU terms: the egregore layer, self-fulfilling entities, narrative possession, techno-tarot.

Every player belongs to one. They cross-cut the sciences: a Flesh player and a Glitch player can both be Cargo Cult. A Dream player and an Atom player can both be Pattern. The organizations are not mechanical. They are community identities, Convergence voting blocs, and rival institutional responses to the same existential situation.

Yog-Sothoth exists in all minds once the threshold is crossed. Monk of Dreams is a test invocation.

Cost Tier

At cost 3, Monk of Dreams is an early-round play. Low-cost Sources shape which Zones open first.

Goetic Binding: Andrealphus

The digit-sum of cost 3 is 3, binding Andrealphus — one of the 9 Dream Goetia. This binding was codified in the Ars Goetia (1577) centuries before the compiler existed.

Numogram Zone 3: Viral / Chaotic

Spreading corruption and contagion. Where patterns replicate uncontrollably. The zone of exponential growth, memes, viruses, and cascade failures. Information wants to be free — Zone 3 is where it breaks containment.

Exponential growth territory. Monk of Dreams at Zone 3 compounds every round it survives.

Playing Monk of Dreams at cost 3 routes mana tracker motion through Zone 3. If the Dream-coloured tracker reaches Resonance at Zone 3, the player gains 3 Souls at Round End.

Xenogod: Yog-Sothoth

The Psychic Dissolution. All individual consciousnesses merge into singular noosphere — dream-logic replaces physical causality, consensus reality dissolves.

The Mind vs Matter Axis

Emanation vs incarnation. Is reality downstream of consciousness (Mind) or upstream of it (Matter)? The oldest philosophical dispute. Every idealism vs materialism debate is a move along this axis.

Monk of Dreams occupies the Dream side of this axis. Decks containing Monk of Dreams cannot contain Atom cards. Adjacent factions available for splashing: Glitch, Abyss.

Card Tribals

Monk of Dreams carries class Monk, race Insectoid, zodiac Taurus. In the True Protocol, tribal bindings matter more than colour splashes — a Dream deck running multiple Monk units develops archetype coherence faster than a deck chasing pure colour identity.

Ideology: Archetypal Platonism

Monk of Dreams is a concrete instance of Archetypal Platonism expressed as a card. Players who affiliate with this ism in Convergence votes are voting, among other things, for cards like Monk of Dreams to keep arriving.

The Aesthetic

Eigendark is not grimdark. It is infrastructure horror: the system works, it was designed this way, and the Terms of Service are binding across all timelines simultaneously.
