The rules text functions identically in Cargo Cult tabletop rules and the True Protocol. Both share the same core engine.

In-lore, this is how Foras (the Goetia bound to digit-sum 1) expresses itself through Rolled Standard during a match. The 1577 codification still compiles.

Atom — Physics · Industry

"Maximize efficiency. Master the smallest and you master everything."

Reality reduces to energy and force. Atomic warlocks bend matter to their will from the nuclear level to massive scales.

The science of material existence. Mechanics, chemistry at the atomic scale, engineering, industry, nanotechnology, the solid world. Yaldabaoth's tyranny. Deep-time matter trauma, nuclear identity sorcery. The Demiurge creating matter from geometric forms.

Mind vs Matter (Dream vs Atom). Emanation vs incarnation. Is reality downstream of consciousness (Mind) or upstream of it (Matter)? The oldest philosophical dispute. Every idealism vs materialism debate is a move along this axis.

The forge does not question the smith. Rolled Standard came out of the forge.

Cost Tier

Low-cost cards are cheap to cycle but cheap to remove. Rolled Standard earns value through repetition.

Goetic Binding: Foras

The digit-sum of cost 1 is 1, binding Foras — one of the 9 Atom Goetia. Office: Teaching logic, ethics, and herbalism. This binding was codified in the Ars Goetia (1577) centuries before the compiler existed.

Numogram Zone 1: Pure / Primordial

The divine, original source. First emanation. The zone of origins and first causes. In the Numogram, Zone 1 is the first mana increment — the moment potential becomes kinetic.

Playing Rolled Standard at cost 1 routes mana tracker motion through Zone 1. If the Atom-coloured tracker reaches Resonance at Zone 1, the player gains 1 Souls at Round End.

Xenogod: Yaldabaoth

The Material Tyranny. Total conversion of all matter into computronium serving Yaldabaoth's optimization function: maximize material complexity while minimizing consciousness.

Rolled Standard occupies the Atom side of this axis. Decks containing Rolled Standard cannot contain Dream cards. Adjacent factions available for splashing: Chaos, Root.

Card Tribals

Rolled Standard carries class Sorcery. In the True Protocol, tribal bindings matter more than colour splashes — a Atom deck running multiple Sorcery units develops archetype coherence faster than a deck chasing pure colour identity.

Ideology: Geometric Rationalism

Rolled Standard is a concrete instance of Geometric Rationalism expressed as a card. Players who affiliate with this ism in Convergence votes are voting, among other things, for cards like Rolled Standard to keep arriving.

The Aesthetic

The weirdness comes from what is said, not from how it is styled. Never use redaction effects as decoration.
