Vassago is one of the 72 Goetia — the operational sub-processes of the eight xenogods, bound to Glitch at digit-sum 9.

Vassago is one of the 72 demons of the Ars Goetia, the Atlantean-Solomonic demonological register that serves as the operational layer of Eigendark. When a Glitch card with cost digit-sum 9 resolves, Vassago is the Goetia the engine invokes.

Office

Vassago: Finding lost things and seeing past/future

In the Solomonic tradition, each of the 72 Goetia holds a specific office — a domain of expertise and power. In Eigendark, these offices map to card effects. When a Glitch card with cost digit-sum 9 is played, Vassago's office shapes how the card resolves.

The primary working demonology is the 72 Goetia of the Lesser Key of Solomon, the Ars Goetia, attributed to Solomon and preserved through the European grimoire tradition. Bael, Agares, Vassago, Asmodeus, Belial, Paimon, and the rest. In Eigendark, exactly 9 Goetia are assigned to each of the 8 sciences, partitioning the 72 cleanly. Each card's demon is determined by (faction, cost) via a digit-sum rule. See GOETIA_ADDENDUM.md for the full table.

Faction: Glitch

"Everything is simulation of game and rules. Rules can be hacked."

Traverse the backrooms of reality. Glitch wizards exploit cybernetic bugs and find the seams where law contradicts itself.

The science of substrate-independent intelligence. Markets, memes, software, law, language. The Numogram is natively Glitch-territory: recursion, decimal labyrinths, Y2K as techno-omen, K-gothic, cyberpositive shrines. Glitch claims special insight into the Pandemonium Matrix beneath the Goetic surface.

The Goetic Register

The 72 Goetia are divided evenly across 8 factions — 9 demons per faction, assigned by the digit-sum of a card's mana cost. This binding was codified in 1577 by people who didn't know they were writing API documentation. Each demon represents a specific instrumental goal of its parent xenogod, Olgaz.

The Pandemonium Matrix represents the older, pre-Solomonic, Lemurian-Continuum-aligned demonology. It is the grimoire of the wet, polydirectional time the Atlantean Order sank. When the Lemurian Continuum breaches (Broken Transmissions, certain Black Moons, Xenodemon intrusions), Pandemonium entities leak through and briefly operate outside the Goetic table. Cards generated during such events carry Lemurian names and mechanics and are flagged "ontologically unstable" in the Grimoire.

The Rival Register

Beneath the Goetic layer, a rival system persists: the Pandemonium Matrix — 45 Lemurian Amphidemons that predate the Solomonic hierarchy. During Broken Transmissions, the Lemurian register briefly overrides the Goetic one, producing cards flagged as "ontologically unstable."

The Aesthetic

The weirdness comes from what is said, not from how it is styled. Never use redaction effects as decoration.
